Company Extract from the Georgian Business Registry (with Apostille)

What a Georgian company extract is, what it shows, and how to obtain it — certified, translated and apostilled — for banks, tenders and use abroad.

At a glance

  • What it is: an official extract from Georgia’s register of entrepreneurs confirming a company’s legal standing.
  • What it shows: legal name, ID number, form, address, founders/shareholders and directors.
  • Why it’s needed: banks (KYC), tenders, contracts, notaries — and foreign authorities.
  • For use abroad: a certified translation and an apostille; obtainable remotely by power of attorney.

A company extract is the standard proof that a Georgian company exists and who stands behind it. Whenever someone needs to verify your company — a bank, a counterparty, a tender committee or an authority abroad — this is the document they ask for. Here is what it contains and how to get a fresh, apostilled copy.

What a company extract shows

The extract is drawn from Georgia’s register of entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurial legal entities and reflects the officially registered data of the company. It typically includes:

  • Identification — full legal name, identification number, legal form and registered address
  • Ownership — founders and shareholders, with their identification and share percentages
  • Management — directors, managing partners or authorised representatives and their powers
  • Status — whether the company is active, and key registration details

When you need it

A current extract — often certified and apostilled — is routinely required for:

  • Opening or maintaining a bank account, where it forms part of the bank’s KYC checks
  • Tenders, contracts and notarial acts that require proof of who can sign for the company
  • Using the company abroad — opening a foreign account, a subsidiary or branch, or proving good standing to a foreign authority
  • Due diligence by investors, partners or payment providers

Making it usable abroad

The extract is issued in Georgian. For use in another country you will almost always need a certified translation into the target language and an apostille, which authenticates the document for Hague Convention countries (for non-Convention destinations, legalisation is used instead). Foreign banks and registries generally want a recent extract — often issued within the last few months — so timing matters; we obtain a fresh one and legalise it in one pass.

Getting it without being in Georgia

You do not need to be in the country. Under a power of attorney we obtain the extract, arrange the certified translation and the apostille, and send you the finished document — the usual route for founders who run their Georgian company from abroad. See how we obtain and apostille documents from Georgia, end to end; if you also need to open a Georgian bank account, we can help with that too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you get a company extract if I am abroad?

Yes. Under a power of attorney we obtain the extract, arrange a certified translation and the apostille on your behalf, and send you the finished document — no need to travel to Georgia.

Does the extract need an apostille and translation?

For use abroad, usually yes — a certified translation into the target language and an apostille (or legalisation for non-Convention countries) so it is recognised. Georgian banks also often require a certified, apostilled copy for KYC.

How recent does the extract have to be?

Many banks and foreign authorities want a recent extract — commonly issued within the last few months. We obtain a fresh one so it is accepted, rather than relying on an older copy.

Need a Georgian Company Extract?

We obtain a fresh extract, translate it and apostille it — remotely if you run your company from abroad.
